updates on the yarn progress

so I finally had time to wind off the bobbin of yarn. I managed to get 20 yards out of this which is surprising because its such a chunky yarn. I'm hoping to be able to get more out of the second batch of roving. In order to set the twist, I soaked the fiber in hot water, then shocked it in cold water. this is the same process to felting a knitted piece. Afterwards I literally beat the fiber against one of the railings out back to pinch the fibers together. This is now drying in my bathroom and it is weighted down by a hanger.

one thing I will say is that there was a burnt rubber smell I got out of the yarn. Unexpected to say the least. I even lost a few small pieces of the roving but that was because those pieces were used for practice and had weak points in the graft

I'm excited to get working with this now
